Confidentiality Assurance
As a healthcare professional, client confidentiality is of paramount importance. Trust and confidence is an essential part of this service and any information you may share with Dr Ruth Birkebaek via enquiry or consultation will be held in strictest confidence. Information is never shared with third-parties without your consent.
Exceptions to third-party sharing of information
- In accordance with our code of ethics and professional practice, cases may be discussed with a clinical supervisor. Discussions are always anonymised. A client is never referred to in such a way that they may be identified.
- If working with Bupa, it may be necessary to share information in order to provide: clinical quality information; assist funding decision making; invoicing Bupa for services; investigation in the event of a complaint involving a Bupa patient.
Both the fact and content of our sessions is confidential and will not be released to a third party without written consent from you, except where required or permitted by law (potential danger to self or others; suspected child, elder or dependent-adult abuse).
You have a right to see the information held, amend it or have it deleted. Information is held in accordance with the regulations set out by UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) and other regulating bodies. This includes holding information for 3 years in case of complaints or issues related to conduct. If you would like more information regarding privacy, please contact us directly.
